ROOMS

Rooms (2024), is a project composed of four miniature rooms constructed from acrylic, found dollhouse furniture, and photographs of domestic interiors. These images create the backdrops for a series of empty rooms, including a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom, with outdated wallpaper, decaying concrete, and weathered parquet floors. Each photograph was transferred onto an acrylic plate using an imperfect emulsion transfer process, resulting in images that are degraded and worn. The aged, doll-like interiors reconstruct a child’s perspective of home through scale, resonating with Stephen’s own feelings of distance from her childhood home.
